In the protected part of Old Lyon, a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Hotel Phénix Lyon is located right on the quays themselves and is the only one hotel to offer breathtaking views of the River Saône. This former Renaissance dwelling, made up of three buildings constructed between the 16th and 18th centuries, has an offbeat look about it. The original columns in the arched dining rooms, wood carvings, fireplaces and the showcasing of Art Deco glass ceilings merely serve to enhance the ultra-sophisticated charm of buildings steeped in history.
