Villa Maïa 5*

Lyon, France

Hotel's website
Villa Maïa blends the warmth of a sumptuous hotel and the refinement of a grand establishment. Opened in March 2017 on the historic site of the Antiquaille, it is perched on Fourvière hill, with views over Lyon and the distinctive architecture of its buildings. United in a quest for aesthetics and perfection, interior decorator Jacques Grange, noted architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, and acclaimed garden and landscape artist Louis Benech, collaborated to bring this exceptional hotel to life. Connoisseurs of subtle design will appreciate the guest rooms and suites, done in shades of grey, beige and cream, livened up with colorful notes, while a scent created in Grasse exclusively for the hotel leaves an elegant signature. To complete the experience, the majestic 20-meter swimming pool and generously sized well-being spaces will transport you to a realm of serenity.

Rooms & Suites
At the top, all the way up, in the silence, peace and quiet of the “Hill which Prays”, the view contemplates the extraordinary gardens and, further off, the roofs of the city and the vastness of the infinite horizon. Nearby, Notre-Dame de Fourvière Basilica stands guard.
And the thirty-seven suites and rooms nestle in the Antiquaille site as if they had always been there. In the softness and serenity so beautifully interpreted by decorator Jacques Grange.

Restaurant
There is no greater pleasure than to dine in Lyon, with the city at your feet as a backcloth and a meal prepared by famous chef Christian TETEDOIE. A flower in the crown of gastronomy (Best Apprentice in France when just 17, Best French Chef at 35 and President of the Master Chefs of France), a convinced disciple of Paul Bocuse and a local by adoption, Christian TETEDOIE has re-invented onion soup in an upmarket version with foie gras, bone marrow and black truffles, serves chicken breasts poached in plant milk and his “must” flagship dish - lobster with crunchy braised calf’s head.

Bar
Contemporary décor highlighted with glass from the Saint-Just glassworks in the Loire and bright nickel structural metalwork with unobstructed views and the cosy charms of a library and a terrace overlooking the gardens… An enchanting tea room with velvet sofas fragrant with the perfumes of brioche and pink pralines, caramelized sugar and other delicacies prepared by Chef Christian TETEDOIE. Savour an almond-flavoured cocktail in harmony with the Villa’s fragrances … the hotel bar is open from 17:00 to 1:00.
