A 4-star establishment in the centre of Megève, the Mont Blanc remains a special address. A hotel with a timeless charm where one loves to come and return. Firstly because it has remained terribly seductive despite the passing of time. Then for its audaciously elegant couture décor. But what else? Its many invitations to indulge in gourmet pleasures: restaurant, tea room - champagne bar and peeling bench. Not forgetting its spa with its frosty atmosphere, as rejuvenating as it is relaxing. A mythical address which remains one of the most attractive in the most chic resort of the French Alps.
It seems as if everything has been said about this mythical hotel, which has seen all the gotha of the arts and cinema come and go for more than a century, and yet the magic continues to work. Its secret? Because the Mont Blanc remains this ultra stylish and refined setting in the heart of Megève, on the village square. Whether you linger in its lounges, its quirky bistro, its tea room or enjoy a chic getaway in one of its 38 rooms, you'll love strolling through this elegant contemporary décor with a touch of extravagance.
An irresistible address for lovers of a certain idea of the mountain, luxurious and authentic, but also the ideal place to taste the crazy charm of Megève, especially when the snow has dressed the square and its bell tower in white. Just cross the threshold of the hotel to plunge into the heart of the typical alleys of this ultra chic Alpine village. The time for a stroll, a sunny break on a terrace, a ride in a horse-drawn carriage or some luxury shopping. Unless you prefer to ski on the sublime 600 hectare domain, with the Mont Blanc, the Mont Charvin, the Aiguilles de Chamonix and the Warrens and Aravis ranges on the horizon...
A couture décor out of time, just like the salons where a vintage wind blows. Beautiful ceramics from Vallauris parading next to creations by Jean Marais, handicrafts and collectors' items, lighting and vintage furniture from the 50's and 60's: a perfect mix of extravagance and elegance enhanced by a pure white, as if snow had covered the walls and paintings right down to the furniture. The rooms revisit the quintessence of this mythical hotel that Jean Cocteau had nicknamed the 21st arrondissement of Paris. All different and exclusive, they are a beautiful nod to the artists and film stars who have always frequented the premises: patinated blond wood sublimated with amethyst, ice blue, leopard or houndstooth textiles, fabrics and bed linen as soft as they are plush.
The tweed in the rooms is warm and silky, in a range of soft shades of deep beige, powder pink, almond green and sky blue, with golden highlights. Here the harmony with the old wood and vintage furniture is extremely delicate. The beautiful black and white portraits of Jeanne Moreau invite contemplation: a nod to the scenes in Roger Vadim's Liaisons Dangereuses filmed in the hotel in 1952. Years later, the elegance continues in its setting in the heart of the Alps.
The sublime fir tree shines brightly on the village square, wrapped in the white enchantment of winter. Ladies, the time has come to get out your best bonnet and set off for the snowy peaks. It doesn't matter what the style is, as long as there is intoxication! When you return, no sooner have you taken off your skis than you'll be found purring on the snow-white sofas of the Cocteau salon, sipping the best hot chocolate in the village.
Restaurant Le Relais
To savor the wonders of the Alps, all you have to do is pass through the gates of Mont Blanc in the center of Megève.
In an elegant and cosy setting, you can taste a traditional mountain cuisine, very nicely prepared, whereItaly, Savoy and Switzerland meet in the plate, as in the past centuries in the relays.
Bar les Enfants Terribles
One comes here in all intimacy at the beginning of the evening before having dinner at the Relais to taste the best vintage Champagne: Perrier Jouet "Belle Époque" 2012, Comtes de Champagne 2008, Dom Ruinart 2009... or one can be tempted by the new menu of cocktails with Champagne and liqueurs from the Alpine countries.
To accompany the 10 million bubbles contained in an average cup, we order some Antipasti Valdôtains or a terrine of foie gras with spices to share.
Tea Room and Pastries
After a great day of skiing, head to the iconic Hôtel Mont-Blanc for a delicious snack and a meeting in the lounges in a snow-white universe. Comfortably curled up in a shepherdess or a velvet sofa, in front of the flames of the fireplace or watching the ballet of the horse-drawn carriages and the strollers, you will enjoy the "homemade" hot chocolates to die for, prepared with a selection of grand cru cocoa.
SPA
Dive into a polar atmosphere, where the cabins become igloos, the lamps snowballs, the walls are covered with snow crystals... A harmony of white in reference to Mont-Blanc, the mythical summit with eternal snow. The cocooning après ski of the centre of Megève!
When you return from skiing, come and discover all the benefits of the treatments created in total synergy with the Pure Altitude Cosmetics brand, using the protective and soothing benefits of a multitude of mountain flowers, plants and minerals.
