Monsieur Cadet 4*

Paris, France

Hotel's website
Sheltered from the hustle and bustle of the nearby Grands Boulevards, Monsieur Cadet has set up shop in a cobblestone street. It is an Art Deco hotel whose Parisian terrace is nestled between the stalls of shopkeepers. A butcher, a fishmonger, a baker. Its 29 rooms - including 2 suites under the roof - are part of the decor. Its muffled atmosphere, upholstered in royal blue velvet, is that of a slightly roguish cocoon, reminiscent of the roaring twenties of the Paris of yesterday.

• Close to the Grands Boulevards
• 29 rooms
• 2 suites under the roof
• 1 selection of creative cocktails
• 1 spa by Le Tigre, steam room, massage, yoga classes
• 1 intimate and friendly piano bar
• 1 terrace in a pedestrian street

Woven wickerwork chairs and bistro tables are laid out on the terrace. In the summer, the hotel sets up its stand selling homemade ice cream. As night falls, the cocktail bar opens and welcomes guests in a plush, cosy atmosphere. The Spa and the Steam Bath remain open from morning to evening.

THE BEDROOMS
A delightful Art Deco experience, a flashback to the Roaring Twenties, the ultimate romantic era when everyone lived life as an adventure. As do all members of Monsieur Cadet’s family. And in his house, everyone has their own floor, decorated to suit their tastes.

THE PIANO BAR
Welcome to a speakeasy in 1922. Padded royal blue seats are placed invitingly under a mirror produced from seedy glass. On the walls, the black-and-white designs recall the winds of freedom which swept through artistic creativity. For its part, the bookshelf proposes a selection of old books covering the history of Paris - or rather histories of Paris, a city which has known so much turmoil.
In the half-light of this chiaroscuro atmosphere, you can no longer see people’s faces clearly, just the bright colours of their deluxe cocktails.

THE BREAKFAST
Every morning between 7:30 and 10:30, you’ll be warmly welcomed under the large, latticework glass roof. It filters the morning light to avoid overloading those still-sleepy eyes. With French-style pastries or boiled eggs, sausages, cereals, pancakes, vegan bread on demand and of course squeezed fruit juice, you’ll certainly want to take the time to sample our suggestions. Or have them served to you in your bedroom.

THE TERRACE
Just in front of the building, Monsieur Cadet has laid out bistro tables, where you can enjoy the fine weather outside. Watching people coming and going with their shopping baskets is a pleasant distraction, which always raises a smile. From time to time, you’ll see him walking past, on his way to the nearby greengrocer to choose the fruit and vegetables he brings back to the hotel bar.

SPA
Le Tigre Yoga Club, something of a reference in Paris when it comes to wellness, is also part of Monsieur Cadet’s family. It’s no surprise to find them in this building on the Grands Boulevards. In addition to the roomy steam bath, private and only on reservation, Le Tigre also proposes a programme of tailored massages.
