Airelles Saint-Tropez, Pan Dei Palais 5*

Saint-Tropez, France

Hotel's website
Just a couple of steps from the famous Place des Lices and a few meters from the port, Pan Deï Palais is a luxurious hotel designed as a true oasis of serenity in the heart of the village of Saint-Tropez.

General Jean-François Allard built this beautiful private residence as a gift to his beloved, the Indian princess Bannu Pan Deï, in 1835. After falling in love when the General was posted to India, they made their home in Saint-Tropez, where their five children were born. Since transformed into an intimate hotel with twelve rooms and Suites, Pan Deï Palais is dotted with echoes of and nods to its Romanesque history.

Its discreet ochre façade and pastel shutters are perfectly in harmony with the Saint-Tropez alleyways. Only a subtle plaque marks the carved wooden carriage door. Once inside, visitors will find exotic décor with Oriental accents, brightly-coloured Indian rugs, dark wood, exotic furniture and period art.

Behind the hotel, you’ll find its jewel, the blue tile mosaic pool set in a sumptuous Mediterranean garden with palm and olive trees. In summer, you can enjoy its coolness, stretched out on a lounger, quietly sipping a refreshing cocktail. Even in winter, you can make the most of this heated pool, swimming lengths in this special place.

Inside, the twelve Rooms and Suites of this luxury hotel are inspired by and named after important Hindu figures and gods. Whether staying in a classic or prestige room with a garden or village view or a Suite, each one invites you on an exotic zen voyage to the East.

After swimming a few lengths in the pool, revel in the joy of the private beach, Jardin Tropézina, set on the most celebrated stretch of sand in Saint-Tropez: Pampelonne Beach. Made famous by Brigitte Bardot who looked out over its shores in the Roger Vadim film "And God Created Woman", Pampelonne Beach is one of the iconic locations which gave Saint-Tropez its reputation. This little Côte d’Azur village very quickly became the place to go, with all the most glamorous celebrities of the 1960s walking its streets, everyone from Sylvie Vartan to Françoise Hardy, not forgetting Romy Schneider and Jan Birkin.

Lazing on one of the sunbeds, soak up the atmosphere which is unique to Saint-Tropez. Let the hours slip by, between lunch with your feet in the sand in the shade of the pergola, and doze under a parasol. While you are relaxing, your children can enjoy the Kids’ Club at Château de la Messardière, another Airelles Hotel, where everything is in place to make sure their holiday is unforgettable too. This luxurious hotel is ideally located for those who love shopping, to explore the little boutiques in the village’s picturesque streets, before heading back to rest in the calm of your room at Pan Deï Palais.

At the heart of one of Saint-Tropez’s most secret gardens, enjoy an exceptional dining experience at Pan Deï Palais. At the hotel, benefit from priority access to several restaurants near Place des Lices, or at Château de Messardière. Offering rich and varied menus inspired by cuisine from all over the world, the Airelles restaurants will cater for all tastes, at any time of day.
