Backing onto the sublime Collégiale Notre-Dame in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, this 5-star Relais & Châteaux hotel-restaurant was acquired as a result of love at first sight by Geneviève and Jean-André Charial in 2007.

Sheltered from view and offering a casual ambiance, Le Prieuré consists of 25 rooms, 4 suites and 9 junior suites, all different, with warm, sobre decor. With tasteful decoration, as always by Geneviève Charial, the rooms blend past and present in simple, glowing esthetics.

The restaurant
In summer, the restaurant terrace opens out to the gardens, proposing an instructive biological vegetable garden for children. It is a real pleasure to linger in this garden with trellises of century-old wisteria, relax at the edge of the pool, settle down on the terrace to savour dishes presented by the young star-rated Chef, Marc Fontanne, or enjoy a glass of one of the cellar’s finest vintages.
