Cristoforo Benigno Crespi, a pioneer of the cotton industry, fell under the spell of the architecture while travelling
on business in the Middle East. In 1879 he had his own summer home built in typically Moorish style. He entrusted the project to the architect Angelo Colla.
Over the course of time, the villa had a number of owners, among whom we find the Marquis of Torre Rossano who turned it into a place where poets, nobles and kings gathered.
