THE VILLA
In the 15th century architect Michele Sanmicheli started from the ruins of a Roman "casa forte" to design the central part of the villa in Venetian style. The current building, a work of architect Ignazio Pellegrini, dates back to the 18th century. Inside the villa paintings and original finds of both periods can be admired after careful renovations.
Villa Amistà is a combination of historic and contemporary pieces of furniture, resulting from the inventiveness of the well-know designer Alessandro Mendini, and with several artworks by world-famous artists, that have made the villa a real museum of contemporary art and design.

DESIGN
The originality of Byblos Art Hotel interior design is the result of the inventiveness of Alessandro Mendini, the architect and designer, who has merged in contemporary elements in the classic Villa Amistà.
Bright colors and plastic shapes are combined with paintings and marble elements in the 17th century rooms to create a unique and exclusive project: a permanent exhibition of some of the world-best artists and designers, such as Ron Arad, Philippe Starck, Marcel Wanders, Ettore Sottsass, Eero Saarinen, Eero Aarnio and many more.
Classicism and modernity are combined to create an atmosphere that is rich of memory and remembrances, yet blinking at the future.
Byblos Casa connects the contemporary style of Byblos fashion label, which means colors, glamour prints and an innovative use of fabrics patchworks, together with the creative skills of atelier Mendini, which also includes the contribute of other important designers like Anna Gili, Bruno Gregori, Margarini-Morra, Beatriz Millar.

PARK
A beautiful park of 20,000 square meters offers an evocative setting with fountains made from Verona marble and an elegant deck level swimming pool of classic shape. In the Italian garden, in its interpretation that was popular in the eighteenth century, there are magnificent secular plants.

SERVICES
The Hotel offers all comforts: 58 art design rooms (each room is completely different from the other ones) with minibar, LCD television, satellite television linkup, pay-TV, safe deposit boxes, fast internet lines and autonomous air-conditioning. Swimming pool (open from June to September), ESPACE BYBLOS for health care and fitness and much more.

The Chef’s proposals are a rediscovery and reinterpretation of regional and international traditional flavours and dishes. An accurate selection of rare and forgotten vegetables, that are cultivated according to organic methods in the hotel private garden, offer an even wider choice in the à la carte menu.

SPA, RELAX & FITNESS
Treat yourself to one hour exclusive use of the Relax Area in the tranquility of the Wellness Centre ESPACE Byblos.
The hotel offers its guests an ideal setting for relaxation in the humid area of the spa center where they can find a softly illuminated pool with hydromassage and chromotherapy, sauna, steam bath, tropical showers.
The fitness corner offers professional accessories and Tecnogym fitness equipment, together with herbal teas and fresh mineral water with energizing mineral salts.

SWIMMING POOL
Outdoor swimming pool and pool bar are open from June to September. Placed in a quiet and sunny position on the back of the villa, the pool is surrounded by luxuriant trees and plants and inundated by delicious flower perfumes of the several blooming plants. Comfortable chaise-longues are available around the swimming pool to enjoy pleasant relaxing moments and refreshing drinks.

Conceived like a permanent exhibition of contemporary art, Byblos Art hotel has several works of world-famous artists. Careful refurbishments, in terms of architecture and paintings, together with the cooperation with the famous architect and designer Alessandro Mendini, as well as the meticulous choice of furniture items and artworks, have all transformed this venetian villa into a real museum of contemporary art and design.
