THE RESTAURANT

The Restaurant is celebrated for its excellent cuisine and unique ambience. The gorgeous dining room features four open studio kitchens, allowing you to enjoy the sights and sounds of the culinary artistry on display. The menu showcases both Asian and European influences, with a tempting selection of classic favourites and creative dishes. THE JAPANESE RESTAURANT

Awarded two MICHELIN Stars and 18 GaultMillau points, Executive Chefs Dominik Sato & Fabio Toffolon and their team take you on a journey into the world of premium and creative Japanese cuisine. They place great importance on sourcing the finest ingredients and infusing each dish with subtle creativity. Signature creations include delicate hamachi with daikon, green onion oil, and shiso flowers, as well as grilled valley pomegranate with miso, zucchini spaghetti, and lemon jelly. In 2023, the MICHELIN Guide also honored the twins as "Best Young Chefs".

THE JAPANESE AT GÜTSCH

Situated at 2,300 metres above sea level, The Japanese at Gütsch holds one MICHELIN Star and 17 GaultMillau points, making it Switzerland's highest Japanese fine-dining destination. Guests can enjoy exquisite Japanese dishes—such as Shidashi Bento, Omakase, Kaiseki, Sushi, and Tempura—alongside breathtaking mountain views over the Gotthard Pass, the Oberalp Pass, and the Urseren Valley.

THE COURTYARD

The Courtyard is the beautiful outdoor gathering space at The Chedi Andermatt and a popular hangout all year round. In the summer months, you can enjoy spectacular views over a refreshing cocktail in the shadow of the Gemsstock mountain.

In winter, the Courtyard transforms into The Winter Village. Walking through the Winter Village, guests are surrounded by tall fir trees leading to a forest atmosphere with small clearings, a Finnish sauna, and traditional Swiss and Scandinavian cabins to explore. Experiences include dining at The Chalet and The Kota – a Scandinavian-style hut built around a central firepit.

PRIVATE DINNER AT THE KOTA

Enjoy a private sharing-style dinner inside The Kota in The Courtyard. We set The Kota before your arrival with everything required for a cozy and private evening. You are then left to relax, grill your meal, and enjoy the company of friends and family. Reservations for The Kota must be made at least 24 hours in advance. We also recommend pre-ordering your wine selection with our sommelier so everything is prepared for your arrival.

SPA

Wellness lovers can visit The Spa and take advantage of several baths and saunas (including a Finnish sauna), a steam bath, warm- and cold-water plunge pools, and a hammam. Guests can relax with rejuvenating spa treatments in one of 12 spa suites. The Spa is deeply rooted in Far Eastern philosophy and calls on traditional Asian healing arts. Manicures, pedicures, and hairstyling are also available. The impressive 35-metre-long sports pool with a glass roof and the 12-metre-long heated outdoor pool are firm favourites. The in-house fitness studio boasts cutting-edge Technogym fitness equipment equipped with the VISIOWEB digital platform, offering free weights, a Kinesis training wall, Power Plates, and Pilates apparatus. Guests may also participate in group classes (e.g., yoga and Pilates) or personal training sessions.

GOLF COURSE

The Andermatt Swiss Alps golf course is an 18-hole course (par 72), designed in accordance with ecological criteria and beautifully set in the natural landscape. Covering 130 ha (one-third golf course, one-third farmland, and one-third ecological compensation area) and stretching some 6 kilometers in length, this golf course meets international tournament standards. It is only a few minutes on foot from The Chedi Andermatt. The “Alpine Golf” offer also includes the Sedrun, Realp, and Source du Rhône courses (all 9 holes).

SKI AREA

Skiing in the Alps is an absolute must for winter sports enthusiasts. The Andermatt+Sedrun+Disentis ski area is one of the most modern and largest in central Switzerland. Approximately 180 kilometers of pistes at various difficulty levels, with heights reaching up to 3,000 metres and a total of 33 lifts, create a paradise for skiers and snowboarders. The Gemsstock mountain is considered an Eldorado for freeriders, while families and beginners can enjoy the gentler slopes. Ski butlers at The Chedi Andermatt assist guests with area insights, HEAD equipment rentals, and complimentary transfers to and from the Nätschen and Gemsstock valley stations.

GETTING HERE

By car, Andermatt can be reached in 90 minutes from Zurich and 45 minutes from Lucerne (10 minutes from the Göschenen motorway exit). The hotel's own underground parking spaces are available to guests on site. A relaxing train journey takes guests from Zurich to Andermatt in just over two hours. The train station, where the Glacier Express also stops, is within walking distance of the hotel.
