First opened in 1879, Grand Hotel Zermatterhof is a traditional luxury establishment in a central but peaceful location in Zermatt. It features 3 restaurants, free WiFi access, and the Vita Borni spa area with a spacious pool, a sauna area and treatment. Guests are picked up from the train station by the Zermatterhof's either by an electric car or in a blue horse-drawn carriage. The individually furnished rooms and suites offer panoramic views of the mountains. Most rooms even offer views of the Matterhorn. In addition, all rooms feature a kettle with Ronnefeldt tea, a Nespresso coffee machine, complimentary mineral water and soft drinks from the mini-bar, as well as fresh fruit and wine upon arrival.

The Zermatterhof's restaurants include the Alpine Gourmet Prato Borni, which has been awarded 16 GaultMillau points and 1 Michelin star, serving Valais-style cuisine in a sophisticated atmosphere. The Brasserie Lusi offers fine dishes with a French touch, and at the saycheese! Restaurant, guests can enjoy traditional Swiss cheese dishes such as fondue and raclette. Classic afternoon tea is served daily in the Rudenbar and the Stars Bar features live piano music every day. A smoker's lounge is available and open all day. The restaurant terrace, the 2 bars and the hotel garden are suitable for receptions. There are 5 modern, air-conditioned rooms for banquets and conferences for between 5 and 250 people.

Restaurants, Bars, Lounge
The Grand Hotel Zermatterhof has three restaurants with a wide variety of cuisines: the Alpine Gourmet Prato Borni, the Brasserie Lusi and the "saycheese!" Swiss cheese restaurant.
• Alpine Gourmet "Prato Borni" restaurant.
With the Alpine Gourmet concept, the head chef and his team at the Prato Borni restaurant showcase products from the Valais region with a new and imaginative twist. Aficionados of good food and drink can look forward to new and memorable culinary creations, which have been awarded 16 points by GaultMillau and one star by the Guide Michelin.
• Brasseri "Lusi".
The perfect place for those who prefer things simple and uncomplicated. The menu features the very best of French brasserie cuisine as well as classic international dishes.
• Swiss cheese restaurant "Saycheese".
It's cosy in the small cheese restaurant. The cheese is expertly refined with a great deal of attention to detail and is prepared and served with passion.
• How Do You Do? Bar.
This is a place to meet for a light lunch or afternoon coffee and cake. In winter, the crackling fire creates a wonderfully warm and inviting atmosphere – the perfect place to welcome in the evening.
• The Stars Bar is just the place to mull over the day's events and relish the evening. Here each moment becomes a memory worth savouring.
• The Smokers Lounge in the Stars Bar is open all day. Black leather upholstery and an open fire invite you to stay and relax. Of course you are also welcome to enjoy drinks from the bar in the Smokers' Lounge.

Alpine SPA
The atmosphere of well-being in spa reflects the alpine world. The name is programme – "Vita borni", life from the source, the source of life. The natural purity of the mountains blends with the healing effects of the water; hot and cold provide stimulation.
Indulge in a massage or facial treatment. SPA staff members are well-trained specialists. They attach great importance to personal consultation and would be pleased to provide you with more information.
Come for a workout in modern gym. Do some endurance training or muscle building. You will find the right equipment for every requirement. The alpine SPA centre also includes a pool, whirlpool, sauna landscape with hot-air sauna, steam bath, an alpine and an ice grotto, and a private spa area for couples.
