SIGHTSEEING TOUR OF DIJON

Dijon is the capital city of the Burgundy region in eastern France, one of the country’s principal wine-producing areas. Dijon was for some time the capital of the Dukes of Burgundy. The dukes were great patrons of the arts, so Dijon was a major center of Gothic and early Renaissance music, painting, and sculpture, attracting some of the greatest and most famous artists and musicians from Flanders in particular.
The Dijon's historic heritage is extremely rich: the quantity, density and quality of the houses and mansions in the historic center place Dijon as one of the richest architectural cities of France.
The local Museum of Fine Arts is worth to be mentioned. This is an art museum, located in the Palais Ducal with the richest collection of the medieval art. The most famous part of the museum is the Guard Room with tombs of the Dukes of Burgundy - Philip the Bold and John the Fearless.
Many churches have been preserved in the city, including the famous Dijon Cathedral dedicated to Saint Benignus of Dijon. You can also see a great number of the half-timbered houses in the historic center of the city which is filled with the spirit of the “gingerbread”.

The degustation program will start from Dijon. You will enjoy two main “Burgundian specialties”: Dijon mustard and gingerbread.
