4. WALKING TOUR OF LE MARAIS DISTRICT

During the excursion you will visit the historic district The Marais, in which the most ancient private mentions have been preserved (some of them go back to the 15-17th century). One of them - is the famous Carnavalet - now the historic museum of Paris. Also you will see the Place des Vosges - the real pearl of architecture of the beginning of the 17th century. The Place des Vosges is considered by many to be the most beautifully built square in Paris. The Marais is also known for its numerous art galleries and design shops.

5. VISIT OF SAINTE-CHAPELLE & CONCIERGERIE

The Sainte-Chapelle ("Holy Chapel"), located within the Palais de Justice complex on the Ile de la Cité in the center of Paris, is a diminutive yet perfect example of the Rayonnant Style of Gothic architecture. La Conciergerie, once a royal palace that housed the kings and queens of France, was transformed into a prison in the late 14th century. It is infamous for detaining more than 2,600 criminals and political prisoners during The Revolution Tribunal, including Queen Marie Antoinette.

6. MONTMARTRE

• The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris, commonly known as Sacré-Cœur
• The Place du Tertre - only a few streets away from Montmartre's Basilica
• Clos Montmartre - the vineyard which dates from 1932 and has a surface of 1556sqm
• Fountain of St. Denis
• The Moulin de la Galette - a windmill and associated businesses situated near the top of the district of Montmartre
• Le Bateau-Lavoir ("The Boat Wash-house") is the nickname for a building that is famous in art history as a meeting place for a group of outstanding early 20th-century artists, men of letters, theater people, and art dealers
• Place Blanche is one of the small plazas along the Boulevard de Clichy
• Quartier Pigalle - a tourist district, with many sex shops, theatres and adult shows on
• Place Pigalle and the main boulevards.

The excursion will come to its end just in front of Moulin Rouge. This tour can be made in reverse order.
