"Le Cagnard" meaning "the Sun of Provence".

Built in the 13th century, Le Cagnard is an exceptional stone dwelling which is part of the city wall of the Medieval village of Haut-de-Cagnes. Its history is closely tied to that of the Château Grimaldi, which dates back to the 14th century: the Guard Room in particular, with its arched fireplace, is evidence of its Medieval heritage, a time during which Knights protected the village and its château.

Hotel Château Le Cagnard is a 4* small boutique hotel in South of France.
It was completely renovated in 2012 and has reopened its doors to the public more glorious than ever. Twenty-eight rooms and suites with beautifully restored with period furniture and with charm and character.

Each room and suite has been named after a prominent artist that has been associated with Haut de Cagnes, and is finely decorated with trompe l'œil paintings done by artistic painters from the region. The decorative work has been artfully considered, and all the accessories have been carefully selected to enhance each room and suite with its own unique charm.
While walking the hallways or passing through a door, you'll also find a lot of hand-painted details — small hidden treasures just waiting to be discovered.
The renovation and decoration of the rooms and suites successfully combines the highest standards of comfort and modernity while cultivating an authentic atmosphere in a truly refined Provençal style. Particular care and attention was given to the bath and shower rooms, which are furnished with stone sinks, earthenware pieces and heated floors.

Château le Cagnard’s restaurant is an absolutely magical place. The main dining room is renowned for its sliding ceiling that opens up to reveal the blue sky, extending the beautiful terrace and its sublime view of the Mediterranean sea and the surrounding hills.
The restaurant is open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until 8 March 2015 included.
