On the north side of la Montagne Noire ("Black Mountain") and in the centre of the triangle formed by the cities of Toulouse, Albi and Carcassonne, Pépin of Aquitaine built an abbey. Thirteen centuries of history have occurred since, and over time the buildings have suffered many instances of looting and destruction.
It became a school in 1682 under the impetus of Benedictine monks. Today, this monument welcomes history and culture lovers. Former students return every year to revive the memory of this school which closed its doors in 1991.
The hotel has 52 3-star rooms, preserved in the style of the Fathers’ former rooms and 20 2-star rooms located in the former girls' dormitory.
Hotel guests can take advantage of the 6-hectare park and the “wellness area” consisting of a heated, indoor swimming pool, sauna, and fitness room and which is located in the former stables. Guests also enjoy free private parking near the hotel, as well as a free visit to the museum section of l'Abbaye École.
At meal time, a wide array of creative dishes with flavours of the Southwest awaits you. The restaurant "Les Collets Rouges" serves regional gourmet cuisine, prepared from fresh products that are grown and raised locally.
Located in the former refectories and overlooking the majestic Cour des Rouges. Enjoy the beautiful outdoor terrace in nice weather.
In the evening, the bar "Le Gaillac" welcomes you for a moment of relaxation and comfort with a drink by the fireplace.
